Time is a Virtue

My original idea was to have the feeling of loss. I tried to do this by having someone start far away and getting closer, it gives the affect of someone getting close to you but then evenntually disappearing. Part of of this assessment was to consider the video work of artists we have researched this year: Ann Hamilton, Oscar Munoz, Bruce Nauman, Tony Ousler and Denis Beaubois.

There were a few techniques I used whilst creating my work. One of these was cutting clips down using the razor tool. This allows you to split your clips to add or remove bits you like or dislike. Another is the dissolving effect this allows you to have clip on two different layers and be able to dissolve one into the other like fading. To add sound to my work I had to use Audacity. I recorded a voice translator off the internet (speaking my own text) and imported these into Audacity to create a soundtrack. I combined all these elements in Premier.

Some of the feedback I got from my classmates about my work is that I handled sound and video well and it was gentle, also it got the messages across. I orriginally intended this work to only play once, but playing in a loop seems to make the work more meaningful.
